Sivan said that by the end of October or in early November, India will be launching its advanced cartography satellite, Cartosat-3, using the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) rocket.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gkseries.com\/blog\/current-affairs-quiz-2019-daily-gk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Daily Current Affairs Quiz 2019<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To be equipped with strategic applications that will help\ntaking better pictures, Cartosat-3 is an earth observation or remote sensing\nsatellite. Also, it is an advanced version of the Cartosat-2 series satellites\nas it has better spatial and spectral characteristics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Reiterating the same he said, \u201cThe next launch will be\ncartography satellite Cartosat-3. The launch will be towards the end of October\nor early November this year.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Cartosat-3:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cartosat-3 is the third series of earth observational or\nremote sensing satellite. It is an advanced version with better spatial with a\nrange of view, and resolution of up to 0.25m or 25cm as compared to the\nCartosat-2 series satellites. It is capable of producing images with one of the\nmost high-resolution in the world, and certainly the highest of any satellites\nunder ISRO&#8217;s umbrella. Cartosat-3 has been developed to produce high-resolution\npictures for strategic applications. It is fitted with advanced remote sensing\ntools that will be helpful with defence. CartoSAT-3 has been designed in a way\nthat it will be one of the most advanced imaging satellites ever built by ISRO.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this earth observation mission, it will have powerful\ncapabilities in multiple different spectral characteristics including: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2666\npanchromatic which captures all visible colors of light<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2666\nmultispectral which is capable of capturing light within specific ranges in the\nelectromagnetic spectrum<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2666\nhyperspectral that can capture light from across the electromagnetic spectrum <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Polar Satellite\nLaunch Vehicle:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) is a medium-lift\nlaunch vehicle. It has been designed and operated by ISRO.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The PSLV was designed to be 450m high and of 2.8m diameter\nfitted with an associate degree direction system to accomplish navigation, steering,\nand angle management missions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ISRO&#8217;s Other launches\nusing PSLV:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>PSLV has launched a 62, where 27 Indian and 35 foreign,\nsatellites together with Resource sat-2, Youthsat, X-sat, Cartosat-2B,\nAlsat-2A, Studsat, Ocean sat-2, six nanosatellites, Risat-2, Anusat,\nCartosat-2A, IMS-1, DLR-Tubsat, capsule Recovery Experiment (SRE-1), KALPANA-1\nand a number of other others satellites.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) Chairman, K.
