Daily Current Affairs Quiz 2019<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\nFor the next one\nweek, the participants will be addressed by subject matter experts from within\nthe Navy and the Coast Guard and acquainted with aspects of naval operations\nlike aircraft carrier operations, Naval Diplomacy, Humanitarian Assistance and\nDisaster Relief role of the Navy, the organisational structure of the Navy and\nthe Coast Guard. The participants will also be visit naval and Coast Guard\nships, submarines and the Naval Dockyard. The highlight of the Naval leg of the\nDCC is a sea sortie on a frontline Fleet ship where the participants will\nexperience a glimpse of the Navy in action, hands on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
What is The Defence\nCorrespondents’ Course?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n
The Defence\nCorrespondents’ Course (DCC) is one of the most prestigious courses conducted\nby the Directorate of Public Relations, Ministry of Defence. This year, a total\nof 31 correspondents were selected from all over the country to undergo this\nfour week course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Integrated\nServices phase and Naval attachment commenced at Western Naval Command, Mumbai.\nVice Admiral Sangram Singh Byce, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western\nNaval Command (WNC) was the chief guest and delivered the inaugural speech for\nthe course while Mr Sitanshu Kar, Additional Principal Information Officer\n(Defence) especially flew down to Mumbai to interact with the participants. He\nalso delivered the opening lecture on ‘PR set-up in the Armed Forces’. The\ninaugural session was a true representation of jointmanship with senior\nofficers of Army, Navy and Coast Guard posted in Mumbai.
