{"id":5534,"date":"2019-08-29T07:13:40","date_gmt":"2019-08-29T07:13:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.gkseries.com\/blog\/?p=5534"},"modified":"2019-08-29T07:13:41","modified_gmt":"2019-08-29T07:13:41","slug":"cabinet-approves-signing-of-agreement-between-india-and-peru","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.gkseries.com\/blog\/cabinet-approves-signing-of-agreement-between-india-and-peru\/","title":{"rendered":"Cabinet approves Signing of Agreement between India and Peru"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Union Cabinet, chaired by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has approved signing of agreement between the National Medicinal Plants Board, Ministry of AYUSH of the Republic of India and the National Institute of Health of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Peru on Cooperation in the field of Medicinal Plants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gkseries.com\/blog\/current-affairs-quiz-2019-daily-gk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Daily Current Affairs Quiz 2019<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Major impact:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Considering the fact that both countries having rich\nmedicinal plants biodiversity and medicinal plants based indigenous traditional\nsystem of medicines and recognizing the existing friendly and cooperative\nrelations, the proposed Agreement will further enhance bilateral cooperation\nbetween the two countries in the area of Medicinal Plants. This will be of\nimmense importance to both countries. This Agreement will provide structured\nframework for cooperation between the two countries on Medicinal Plants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Implementation\nstrategy and targets:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The activities between the two Parties will start\nimmediately after signing of the Agreement. The initiatives taken by the two\ncountries will be in accordance with the terms of reference of the Agreement and\nwill continue till the Agreement remains in operation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Expenditure\ninvolved:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>There is no additional financial implication involved. The\nfinancial resources necessary to conduct research, training courses,\nconferences \/ meetings will be met from the existing allocated budget and\nexisting plan schemes of the National Medicinal Plants Board, Ministry of\nAYUSH.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Background:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>India is one of the richest countries in the world in terms\nof biodiversity and more than 7000 species of plants are estimated to have medicinal\nusage in folk and documented systems of traditional medicines like Ayurveda,\nUnani, Siddha &amp; Homoeopathy (AYUSH System of Medicine). The Republic of\nPeru is one of the Latin American Countries which are the biodiversity hotspots\nin the world and like India, Peru is also having rich biodiversity of medicinal\nplants and the medicinal plants based traditional medicine practices are\nprominently practiced by indigenous people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Considering the richness of medicinal plants biodiversity\nand uses of these resources in Indigenous Traditional Systems of medicines in\nboth countries and to strengthen the bilateral cooperation, the proposed\nAgreement on cooperation, in the field of medicinal plants is envisaged.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Union Cabinet, chaired by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has approved signing of agreement between the National Medicinal Plants Board, Ministry of AYUSH of the Republic of India and the National Institute of Health of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Peru on Cooperation in the field of Medicinal Plants.
