Recently, the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has issued Guidelines for the Scheme for grant of Award to the Good Samaritan who has saved the life of a victim from a fatal accident involving a motor vehicle. The scheme aims to motivate the general public to help the victims of road accidents in an emergency situation, as well as inspire and motivate others to save innocent lives on the road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under this Good Samaritan scheme, a cash award of Rs. 5,000 per incident<\/strong> will be given to those who save the life of a road accident victim by administering immediate assistance and rushing him\/her to the hospital within the \u2018golden hour\u2019 of the mishap, i.e. within 60 minutes of the incident, to provide medical treatment. An individual Good Samaritan can be awarded maximum 5 times in a year. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Scheme would come into effect from\u00a0October 15, 2021.\u00a0<\/strong>The Scheme would be effective w.e.f 15th of October, 2021. Details of the Scheme are available on the Ministry\u2019s Portal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

\"Department<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The Department of Biotechnology, under the Ministry of Science and Technology, on Thursday launched India\u2019s first mega consortium on \u2018One Health\u2019. The \u2018One Health\u2019 project was launched by Dr. Renu Swarup, Secretary, DBT through video conferencing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Consortium is comprised of 27 organizations and will be led by the DBT-National Institute of Animal Biotechnology, Hyderabad.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The \u2018One Health\u2019 is\u00a0\u201cwhere man, animal, plants,<\/em>\u00a0and environment are considered complementary to each other for maintaining \u2018health of all\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

\"Ropeway<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Varanasi<\/strong>\u00a0of Uttar Pradesh will become the\u00a0first Indian city to use ropeway services in public transportation. Overall, Varanasi will be the\u00a0third city in the world<\/strong>\u00a0after Bolivia and Mexico City to use ropeway in public transportation. The total cost of the ropeway project is\u00a0Rs 424 crore<\/strong>.\u00a0The total distance of 4.2 km will be covered in just 15 minutes. The cost of the project will be divided between the Centre and the state government at 80:20.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

The app named Fishwaale<\/strong> has been launched in Assam<\/strong> and it is India\u2019s first e-fish market.<\/strong> Assam launched App Fishwaale, India\u2019s first e-fish market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Launching the App developed by Aqua Blue Global Aquaculture Solutions Pvt. Ltd. in collaboration with the Fisheries department Suklabaidya said the App, a one-stop solution for Aquaculture, will help the buyers and sellers to place orders and sell fish online. He exuded the optimism that it will help the fish farming community to get rea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

\"RBI<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The Reserve Bank of India <\/strong>(RBI) issued a Small Finance Bank (SFB) licence to the consortium of Centrum Financial Services Limited (Centrum) and BharatPe. \u00a0\u201cA new bank license has been issued after a gap of nearly 6 years, and we thank the RBI for the confidence shown in the abilities of Centrum and BharatPe,\u201d Centrum said in a regulatory filing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Unity Small Finance Bank will take over the assets and liabilities of\u00a0Punjab and Maharashtra Co-operative Bank.<\/strong>\u00a0RBI had given in-principle approval to\u00a0Centrum Financial Services Limited to set up a small finance bank in June 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

Punjab National Bank <\/strong>(PNB) launched the \u20186S Campaign\u2019 under customer outreach programme to extend financial services at a concessional rate during the festival season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Indian American Satya Nadella, the Microsoft CEO, is among the corporate leaders to receive this year\u2019s prestigious C K Prahlad award for Global Business Sustainability Leadership, along with three other top leaders of Microsoft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apart from Nadella, Microsoft\u2019s President and Vice-Chair Brad Smith<\/strong>, Chief financial officer Amy Hood<\/strong> and chief environment officer Lucas Joppa<\/strong> have shared the award for Global Business Sustainability Leadership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Senior bureaucrat Ritesh Chauhan<\/strong> has been appointed as the chief executive officer (CEO)<\/strong> of the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY)<\/strong> and Joint Secretary, Agriculture under the Department of Agriculture and Farmers\u2019 Welfare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chauhan will have a combined tenure of seven years up to September 22, 2023. He is a 2005-batch IAS officer of the Himachal Pradesh cadre. He will succeed Ashish Kumar Bhutani, who was appointed in 2018.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n
