Shri Rajnath Singh said, our stand on Jammu & Kashmir\nhas always been clear and added that in February 1994, Parliament unanimously\npassed a resolution on J&K.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Raksha Mantri also said, Pakistan has illegally occupied PoK\nincluding Gilgit-Baltistan and instead of speaking on Kashmir it should look\ninto the human rights violations the people are facing in that region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Shri Rajnath Singh said, by making Ladakh a Union Territory,\nthe government has not only honoured the public sentiment but provided a\nsolution to the people\u2019s problems. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi\u2019s aim is\nto bring \u2018localised solution\u2019 to the country\u2019s \u2018strategic areas\u2019, he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Earlier, Raksha Mantri inaugurated \u2018Kisan Jawan Vigyan Mela\u2019\nin the presence of Chief Executive Counselor, Ladakh Autonomous Hill\nDevelopment Council (LAHDC) Leh, Shri Jamyang Tsering Namgyal, Secretary,\nDepartment of Defence R&D & Chairman DRDO, Dr Satheesh Reddy and other\nsenior civilian & Army officials in Ladakh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Shri Rajnath Singh also visited the experimental farm of\nDIHAR where technologies for production of quality organic fruits and\nvegetables are being demonstrated. He inspected the greenhouse technology,\nsoil-less cultivation technology, potato storage technology and growing melons\nunder cold climatic conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Raksha Mantri said, the mela provides a platform for\ninteraction between farmers, soldiers and scientists, perfectly imbibing the\nconcept of \u2018Jai Jawan-Jai Kisan-Jai Vigyan-Jai Anusandhan\u2019. Appreciating the\nimportant role played by DIHAR in connecting the soldiers and the society in\nLadakh region, he said the mela is a big leap towards strengthening the\nstrategic ecosystem of Ladakh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Shri Rajnath Singh called upon the scientists at DIHAR to\ndevelop, within three years when it completes 60 years of its establishment, a\nmodel on \u2018High Altitude Survival\u2019 that can help the Armed Forces personnel to\nbrave the harsh and inhospitable conditions and keep their morale high. The\nIndian Army has the capability to become the best \u2018High Altitude Warfare\u2019 force\nin the world, he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Raksha Mantri also appreciated the recent initiative of\nLAHDC to turn Leh into a certified organic district by 2025. He assured support\nfrom the Government in its organic mission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
DIHAR was established in 1962 to meet the fresh food\nrequirement of the soldiers deployed in the harsh terrain of Ladakh. Through\nthe technologies developed by the institute, the Army is getting locally grown\nfresh organic farm produce. As a spin-off of the technologies developed,\nfarmers in Ladakh are able to produce a variety of fruits and vegetables\nresulting in improving their socio-economic condition.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
