{"id":5660,"date":"2019-08-30T07:41:33","date_gmt":"2019-08-30T07:41:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.gkseries.com\/blog\/?p=5660"},"modified":"2019-08-30T07:41:37","modified_gmt":"2019-08-30T07:41:37","slug":"campaign-angikaar-e-course-on-vulnerability-atlas-launched","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.gkseries.com\/blog\/campaign-angikaar-e-course-on-vulnerability-atlas-launched\/","title":{"rendered":"Campaign Angikaar &#038; E-Course on Vulnerability Atlas Launched"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Shri Hardeep S Puri, Minister of State (I\/C) for Housing and Urban Affairs today launched \u201cangikaar\u201d a campaign for change managementand e-Course on Vulnerability Atlas of India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gkseries.com\/blog\/current-affairs-quiz-2019-daily-gk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Daily Current Affairs Quiz 2019<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;In line with the\nvision of Prime Minister, Angikaar has been launched for social behaviour\nchange, focusing on issues such as water &amp; energy conservation, waste\nmanagement, health, tree plantation, sanitation and hygiene for beneficiaries\nof completed houses under PMAY (U), through community mobilisation and IEC\nactivities.For this purpose, the campaign will converge with schemes and\nMissions of other Ministries dealing with these subjects. The convergence would\nespecially focus on Ujjwala for gas connection and Ayushman Bharat for health\ninsurance to the beneficiaries of PMAY (U).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;Under PMAY (U) about\n88 lakh houses has been approved till now as against demand of 1.12 crore. The\nangikaar aims at reaching out all the beneficiaries of the Mission in phased\nmanner. The campaign will be initiated in all target cities on 2nd October 2019\ncommemorating 150th Gandhi Jayanti after preparatory phase and culminate on the\noccasion of Human Rights Day, 10th December, 2019. The campaign will include\ndoor to door activities, ward and city level events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The e-course on Vulnerability Atlas is offered by the\nMinistry of Housing &amp; Urban Affairs in collaboration of School of Planning\n&amp; Architecture (SPA), New Delhi and Building Materials &amp; Technology\nPromotion Council (BMTPC). It is a unique course that offers awareness and\nunderstanding about natural hazards, helps identify regions with high\nvulnerability with respect to various hazards (earthquakes, cyclones,\nlandslides, floods, etc.) and specifies district-wise level of damage risks to\nthe existing housing stock. The e-course will be a tool for effective &amp;\nefficient disaster mitigation &amp; management in the field of Architecture,\nCivil Engineering, Urban &amp; Regional Planning, Housing &amp; Infrastructure\nPlanning, Construction Engineering &amp; Management and Building &amp;\nMaterials Research. The registration to e-Course on Vulnerability Atlas of\nIndia will be through SPA\u2019s website www.spa.ac.in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the inauguration of Construction Technology India\n(CTI-2019), Hon\u2019ble Prime Minister gave a mandate to enable \u201cEase of Living\u201d\nfor PMAY (U) beneficiaries and emphasized the need to incorporate hazard safety\nprovisions in all construction works.
