The importance of the Special Strategic and Global\nPartnership between India and Japan in addressing regional peace, security and\nstability was also highlighted. Furthermore, the two Ministers had free and\nfrank discussion on the emerging regional security scenario.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Raksha Mantri also discussed abrogation of Article 370 of\nthe Indian constitution and said talks and cross-border terrorism originating\nfrom Pakistan cannot go together. He invited participation of Japanese\ncompanies and other stakeholders at biennial Def Expo 2020 to be held in\nLucknow. In a tweet Shri Rajnath Singh said, \u201cHad an extremely fruitful\nMinisterial Level Dialogue with Japan\u2019s Defence Minister, Mr Takeshi Iwaya in\nTokyo. We discussed the full spectrum of India-Japan defence cooperation. We\nwill continue working together to further deepen the defence ties between both\nthe nations.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Later, Shri Rajnath Singh called on Prime Minister of Japan,\nMr Shinzo Abe. During the meeting, Raksha Mantri praised the exceptional\nrelationship between Mr Shinzo Abe and Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.\nRaksha Mantri apprised the Japanese Prime Minister on the contents of the\ndiscussion at the Defence Ministerial Dialogue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Shri Rajnath Singh also conveyed to the Prime Minister of\nJapan that Jammu & Kashmir is an integral part of India and abrogation of\nArticle 370 benefits the people of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh. He also said\nPakistan has no locus standi in Jammu & Kashmir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There was a general understanding that more co-operation\nshould be realised in Defence Equipment and Technology Co-operation. Prime\nMinister Mr Abe requested Raksha Mantri to convey his regards to Prime Minister\nShri Modi whom he expects to meet on the sidelines of UNGA in New York later\nthis month. Raksha Mantri tweeted after his interaction with PM Abe, \u201cThe\nmeeting with the Prime Minister of Japan Mr Shinzo Abe was excellent. India\nattaches the highest priority to our bilateral relationship with Japan. I\nconveyed to him the Government of India\u2019s commitment to further enhance the\ndefence engagements between both the countries.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
