The Eight Core Industries comprise 40.27 per cent of the\nweight of items included in the Index of Industrial Production (IIP). The\ncombined Index of Eight Core Industries stood at 131.9 in July, 2019, which was\n2.1 per cent higher as compared to the index of July, 2018. Its cumulative\ngrowth during April to July, 2019-20 was 3.0 per cent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Coal:<\/strong> Coal\nproduction (weight: 10.33 per cent) declined by 1.4 per cent in July, 2019 over\nJuly, 2018. Its cumulative index increased by 1.8 per cent during April to\nJuly, 2019-20 over corresponding period of the previous year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Crude Oil:<\/strong> Crude\nOil production (weight: 8.98 per cent) declined by 4.4 per cent in July, 2019\nover July, 2018. Its cumulative index declined by 6.2 per cent during April to\nJuly, 2019-20 over the corresponding period of previous year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Natural\nGas:<\/strong> The Natural Gas production (weight: 6.88 per cent)\ndeclined by 0.5 per cent in July, 2019 over July, 2018. Its cumulative index\ndeclined by 0.8 per cent during April to July, 2019-20 over the corresponding\nperiod of previous year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Refinery\nProducts:<\/strong> Petroleum Refinery production (weight: 28.04 per\ncent) declined by 0.9 per cent in July, 2019 over July, 2018. Its cumulative\nindex declined by 2.0 per cent during April to July, 2019-20 over the\ncorresponding period of previous year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fertilizers:<\/strong> Fertilizers\nproduction (weight: 2.63 per cent) increased by 1.5 per cent in July, 2019 over\nJuly, 2018. Its cumulative index declined by 0.4 per cent during April to July,\n2019-20 over the corresponding period of previous year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Steel:<\/strong> Steel\nproduction (weight: 17.92 per cent) increased by 6.6 per cent in July, 2019\nover July, 2018. Its cumulative index increased by 10.9 per cent during April\nto July, 2019-20 over the corresponding period of previous year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cement:<\/strong> Cement\nproduction (weight: 5.37 per cent) increased by 7.9 per cent in July, 2019 over\nJuly, 2018. Its cumulative index increased by 2.7 per cent during April to\nJuly, 2019-20 over the corresponding period of previous year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Electricity:<\/strong> Electricity\ngeneration (weight: 19.85 per cent) increased by 4.2 per cent in July, 2019\nover July, 2018.
