Daily Current Affairs Quiz 2019<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\nThe Visitor\u2019s Award for Research in Humanities, Arts and\nSocial Sciences will be presented to Prof. Sibnath Deb from the Department of\nApplied Psychology, Pondicherry University, for his research in the field of\nchild protection, especially his focus on child abuse and neglect, student\u2019s\nmental health and HIV\/AIDS. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Visitor\u2019s Award for Research in Physical Sciences will\nbe presented to Prof. Sanjay Puri from the School of Physical Sciences,\nJawaharlal Nehru University, for his research in the field of nonequilibrium\nstatistical physics and nonlinear dynamics. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Visitor\u2019s Award for Research in Biological Sciences will\nbe jointly presented to Prof. Asad Ullah Khan from the Inter-disciplinary\nBiotechnology Unit, Aligarh Muslim University, for identifying Antimicrobial\nresistance (AMR) problem in India: mechanism of spread and control of AMR; and\nto Dr Partima from the Special Centre for Nanoscience, Jawaharlal Nehru\nUniversity, for her research on nanobiosensors and nanobiointeractions\nespecially early stage cancer diagnosis using nanomaterials bases biosensing platform.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Visitor\u2019s Award for Technology Development will be\nconferred on Dr Shaon Ray Chaudhuri from the Department of Microbiology,\nTripura University, for her developing miarobial biofilm reactor for conversion\nof dairy wastewater into biofertilizer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Visitor\u2019s Awards 2019 will be presented by the President\nof India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind, at a function to be organised in Rashtrapati\nBhavan, at a date to be announced shortly. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
For selecting the awardees, online applications were invited\nfrom all Central Universities for each category. A Selection Committee headed\nby Shri Sanjay Kothari, Secretary to the President and comprising eminent\npersons and academicians, assisted by a Sub-Committee, made the selections. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Visitor\u2019s Awards had\nbeen instituted in 2014 to promote healthy competition amongst Central\nUniversities and motivate them to adopt best practices from around the world in\npursuit of excellence.
