The HQ IDS was raised on October 1, 2001 as a \u2018Tri Service\nEntity\u2019 with an overarching aim of \u2018Victory Trough Jointness\u2019. Since then, IDS\nhas led the conduct of Disaster Relief Operations, Tri-Service Exercises,\nincluding those with friendly foreign countries, training leaders at\nTri-Service Institutions, consolidating defence intelligence and progressing\nprocurement for the defence forces. In a landmark effort, the IDS spearheaded\nconstruction of the National War Memorial, inaugurated by Prime Minister on\nFebruary 25, 2019. The HQ IDS is currently progressing the operationalisation\nof Defence Cyber Agency, Defence Space Agency and Armed Forces Special\nOperations Division as Joint organisation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
