He went on to command a premier MiG 29 Base and as an Air Vice Marshal\nhe was Air Defence Commander at Headquarter Western Air Command and Eastern Air\nCommand. As an Air Marshal, he has held the appointments of Director General (Inspection\nand Safety) and Director General Air (Operations) at Air HQ. Before taking over\nas Vice Chief of the Air Staff, he was Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, South\nWestern Air Command.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Air Mshl has been a Directing Staff at \u2018Tactics and Air\nCombat Development Establishment\u2019 and has been a Flying Inspector in the\n\u2018Directorate of Air Staff Inspection\u2019. He was Defence Attach\u00e9 in the Embassy of\nIndia, Bangkok, Thailand from 2006 to 2009.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For his distinguished service, Air Mshl Arora was awarded\n\u2018Ati Vishisht Seva Medal\u2019 by the President of India on 26 Jan 2011. He was\nappointed as Honorary Air Force ADC to the Honorable President of India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
