This innovation challenge provides a platform for every child across India to ideate innovative solutions for a sustainable India of their dreams, using Gandhi\u2019s principles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gkseries.com\/blog\/current-affairs-quiz-2019-daily-gk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Daily Current Affairs Quiz 2019<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The winners of The Gandhian Challenge will be awarded in New\nDelhi by NITI Aayog\u2019s Atal Innovation Mission and UNICEF on the occasion of\nChildren\u2019s Day in November. The contest \u2013 open for every child in India from 2\nOctober to 20 October \u2013 also celebrates 70 years of partnership between\nGovernment of India and UNICEF India to enable Every Right for Every Child.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThrough this partnership, AIM and UNICEF recognize every\nchild\u2019s ability and right to voice their dreams for a world of their choice,\nfollowing Gandhi&#8217;s principles. Our aim is to support them to thrive as young\ninnovators and entrepreneurs,\u201d said Mr. R Ramanan, Mission Director AIM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The problem statement for the Gandhian Challenge is: \u201cShare\nyour innovative solutions\/ideas to create a futuristic and sustainable world of\nyour dreams, following Gandhi&#8217;s principles.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ideas and solutions to the Gandhian Challenge may be\nexpressed through broad categories: Art &amp; Innovation (Letters, poems,\npainting, videos and photos, among others) and Science, Technology &amp;\nInnovation (Robotics, IoT, sensors and 3D printers, among others).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All applications must be submitted on the challenge page on\nhttps:\/\/innovate.mygov.in\/the-gandhian-challenge\/ , Government of India\u2019s\ncitizen engagement portal. All applications must have an ATL code. Children in\nschools without an ATL can obtain the ATL code by visiting or calling the\nnearest ATL school. The list of nearest ATL schools in every district can also\nbe accessed on the challenge page mentioned above.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cParticipation is a core right of every child and enabling\ntheir meaningful participation is of critical importance,\u201d said Dr.Yasmin Ali\nHaque, Representative, UNICEF India. \u201cChallenges like this help us understand\nchildren&#8217;s point of view with a willing to re-examine our own opinions and\nattitudes, and envisage solutions through a child-rights lens.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The most innovative, sustainable solutions\/ideas will be\nshowcased as a symbol of a larger movement by children taking root in every\ndistrict of India. Children across India can access to more than 8000 Atal\nTinkering Labs across all districts to support their innovative ideas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In ATLs, students of class 6th to 12th acquire a\nproblem-solving attitude, develop innovative solutions leveraging technologies\nlike 3D printers, robotics, miniaturised electronics, IOT and programming and\nDIY kits, with support from teachers and mentors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">About AIM:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>AIM is the Government of India\u2019s flagship initiative to promote\na culture of innovation and entrepreneurship in the country. AIM\u2019s objective is\nto develop new programmes and policies for fostering innovation in different\nsectors of the economy, provide platform and collaboration opportunities for\ndifferent stakeholders, create awareness and create an umbrella structure to\noversee innovation ecosystem of the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Six major initiatives of AIM:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Atal Tinkering Labs-Creating problem-solving\nmindset across schools in India.<\/li><li>&nbsp;Atal\nIncubation Centers-Fostering world class start-ups and adding a new dimension\nto the incubator model.<\/li><li>&nbsp;Atal New\nIndia Challenges-Fostering product innovations and aligning them to the needs\nof various sectors\/ministries.<\/li><li>Mentor India Campaign- A national Mentor network\nin collaboration with public sector, corporates and institutions, to support\nall the initiatives of the mission.<\/li><li>Atal Community Innovation Center- To stimulate\ncommunity centric innovation and ideas in the unserved \/underserved regions of\nthe country including Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.<\/li><li>ARISE-To stimulate innovation and research in\nthe MSME industry.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">About UNICEF India and Generation Unlimited:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>UNICEF, an integral part of the United Nations, works with\ngovernments, communities, civil society organizations, the private sector, and\nother partners worldwide to advance children\u2019s rights, and is guided by the\nConvention on the Rights of the Child. Generation Unlimited is a new UNICEF-led\nglobal partnership that aims to ensure that every young person age 10-24 is in\nsome form of school, learning, training, self-employment, or age-appropriate\nemployment by 2030.
