Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya has released Krishi UDAN 2.0, laying out the vision of improving value realization through better integration and optimization of Agri-harvesting and air transportation and contributing to agri-value chain sustainability and resilience under different and dynamic conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The scheme proposes facilitating and incentivizing the movement of agri-produce by air transportation. It will open up new avenues of growth for the agriculture sector and help attain the goal of doubling farmers\u2019 income.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Krishi UDAN 2.0\u00a0will be implemented at 53 airports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

\"Expenditure<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Expenditure Finance Committee (EFC) of the Department of Expenditure has approved the Rs 2,117 crore Nag River revitalization project in Nagpur, Maharashtra It was conceptualized by Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This ambitious project includes the construction of three STP projects, a 500-kilometer sewerage network, a pumping station, and community toilets will be constructed. This project is proposed to be completed in\u00a08 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

The government has reconstituted the economic advisory council to the Prime Minister (EAC-PM) for a period of two years with Bibek Debroy as the head.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Ministry of Education has notified Four Year Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP). MoE notified about the dual-major holistic bachelor\u2019s degree offering BA-Bed and BSc-Bed, which is one of the major important points of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 which is related to teacher education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    As per NEP, 2020, teacher engagement will be only through ITEP. It will be offered in pilot mode initially in about 50 selected multidisciplinary institutions across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

    \"Supreme<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

    Supreme Court has appointed a three-member committee to look into allegations of unauthorized surveillance using Pegasus, spyware developed by Israeli firm NSO Group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The three-member expert panel, supervised by a retired SC judge, will also ascertain details of people targeted by the military-grade Israeli spyware. Committee members: Naveen Kumar Chaudhary, Prabaharan P, Ashwin Anil Gumaste.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    It will be supervised by retired judge Justice\u00a0R V Raveendran. Justice Raveendran was part of the R M Lodha Committee appointed by the SC in 2015 to reform the BCCI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

    \"National<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

    Raksha Rajya Mantri Shri Ajay Bhatt flagged off the upcoming National Institute of Mountaineering & Allied Sports (NIMAS) multidimensional adventure sports expedition to Europe, in New Delhi on October 27, 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    NIMAS will conduct this expedition in Chamonix, France in November 2021, which is considered the adventure capital of Europe. Locations for the expedition are\u00a0Alps Mountains; Chamonix; Normandy, English Channel. There will be hoisting\/unfurling\/displaying of Tricolour during in all these activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

    The government has reconstituted the seven-member Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister (EAC-PM) by inducting three new members while dropping economist V. Anantha Nageswaran from the council.  Bibek Debroy continues to be the Chairman of the Council.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    EAC-PM has been\u00a0reconstituted for a period of 2 years<\/strong>.\u00a0Rakesh Mohan, Poonam Gupta, TT Ram Mohan, Sajid Chenoy, Neelkanth Mishra and Nilesh Shah are the other six members of EAC-PM apart from the Chairman (Bibek Debroy). EAC-PM was\u00a0set up in September 2017<\/strong>\u00a0with a term of two years and it\u00a0replaced the erstwhile Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister (PMEAC).<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

    \"Indigenously-built<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

    The Indian Coast Guard received a shot in the arm with the commissioning and dedication of ICGS Sarthak\u2013 a 105 m long offshore patrol vessel (OPV) that was dedicated to the nation at the Goa Shipyard Ltd on October 28, 2021.<\/strong> It will be based at Porbandar in Gujarat.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The indigenously built ship was commissioned by the Director-General of Indian Coast Guard, K Natarajan, at Goa. ICGS Sarthak is\u00a0fourth in the series of five Offshore Patrol Vessels (OPVs)<\/strong>\u00a0being built by\u00a0Goa Shipyard Limited<\/strong>\u00a0for the ICG, to boost maritime safety and security of India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

    Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya addressed the inaugural session of the CII Asia Health 2021 summit on October 28, 2021. The theme of the summit is \u2018Transforming Healthcare for a better tomorrow<\/strong>\u2018.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has organised the summit to provide a centralized forum to deliberate on the most critical challenges that India and the world face in delivering healthcare, with\u00a0a focus on the digital transformations\u00a0that result in improved patient outcomes and experience.     The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) approved the candidature of Baldev Prakash as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Jammu and Kashmir Bank for a period of 3 years from the date of taking charge or April 10, 2022, whichever is earlier,<\/strong> the bank said, reported Kashmir Reader.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The actual date of appointment of Baldev Prakash as MD & CEO of J&K Bank will be announced by the bank subsequently. Rajesh Kumar Chhibber is the present Chairman and Managing Director of J&K Bank<\/strong>. He assumed charge of the bank in June 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The government of Jammu & Kashmir holds a majority shareholding of\u00a068.18%<\/strong>\u00a0in the bank. The\u00a0headquarters of J&K Bank is located in Srinagar.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

    The finance ministry appointed veteran banker K.V. Kamath as the chairman of the newly constituted development finance institution National Bank for Financing Infrastructure and Development (NaBFID). Kamath is a well-known banker in India and is the first head of the New Development Bank (NDB).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    NaBFID is a newly set up development financial institution (DFIs) in India. It has been set up for infrastructure financing as per the National Bank for Financing Infrastructure and Development (NaBFID) Act 2021. The authorized share capital of the NaBFID is Rs one lakh crore. The initial paid-up capital of NaBFID is Rs 20,000 crore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has been re-elected for a second five-year term, winning 80.1% of the vote in Sunday\u2019s poll which Western observers said was not truly competitive despite improvements brought by recent reforms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Mirziyoyev took the office of President in 2016 following the death of longtime President Islam Karimov, Prior to being appointed as the President, Mirziyoyev served as the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan from 2003\u00a0to 2016.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

    Anita Anand, a Canadian politician of Indian origin, was appointed as the defence minister of the country on October 26, 2021, in Justin Trudeau\u2019s Cabinet following a reshuffle, reported PTI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    She is only the second women to be appointed as Canada\u2019s National Defence Minister, after\u00a0Kim Campbell in the 1990s. The 54-year-old Anita Anand replaces long-time Indian-origin Defence Minister Harjit Sajjan. Anand is the second woman to serve as\u00a0Canada\u2019s defence minister, reported\u00a0The Guardian<\/em>. She previously held the portfolio of the procurement minister.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

    \"France<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

    France<\/strong> successfully launched a military communication satellite, named Syracuse 4A<\/strong>, into orbit recently from Kourou, in French Guiana. The state-of-the-art satellite was launched on Ariane 5 rocket.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The satellite \u201cis designed to resist military aggression from the ground and in space, as well as interference,\u201d French air and space force spokesman Colonel Stephane Spet told AFP. The new satellite will allow the armed forces of France across the globe to communicate swiftly and securely. It is the first in the series of three Syracuse IV communication satellite being developed to improve French military satellite communications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

    International Internet Day <\/strong>is celebrated globally on October 29 every year. International Internet Day is celebrated to commemorate a momentous day in the history of telecommunications and technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The \u200bday marks the sending of the first electronic message which was transferred from one computer to another in 1969. Charley Kline, a student programmer at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), transmitted the first-ever electronic message \u2018LO\u2019 on October 29, 1969. <\/strong>At that time the Internet was known as ARPANET (Advanced Research Projects Agency Network).<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Kline, who was working under the supervision of Professor Leonard Kleinrock, transmitted a message from the computer housed at UCLA to Bill Duvall who was using a computer positioned at the Stanford Research Institute\u2019s computer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
