{"id":61077,"date":"2021-11-11T06:07:25","date_gmt":"2021-11-11T06:07:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.gkseries.com\/blog\/?p=61077"},"modified":"2022-09-13T12:19:42","modified_gmt":"2022-09-13T06:49:42","slug":"global-drug-policy-index-2021-released","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.gkseries.com\/blog\/global-drug-policy-index-2021-released\/","title":{"rendered":"Global Drug Policy Index 2021 released"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The inaugural Global Drug Policy Index was released by the Harm Reduction Consortium, on November 7, 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Five leading countries on humane and health-driven drug policies:&nbsp;Norway, New Zealand, Portugal, UK, Australia, and the Five lowest-ranked countries are Brazil, Uganda, Indonesia, Kenya, and Mexico.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The index is a data-driven global analysis of drug policies and their implementation which comes at a time when govt is reviewing the provisions of&nbsp;the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic substances act 1985.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><u>India\u2019s rank<\/u><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>India&nbsp;is ranked&nbsp;18 out of 30 countries&nbsp;with overall score of 46\/100.<\/li><li>On \u201cuse of extreme sentencing and responses\u201d criteria, India scored 63\/100.<\/li><li>On health &amp; harm reduction, it scored 49\/100.<\/li><li>On proportionality of criminal justice response, it got 38\/100.<\/li><li>On availability &amp; access of internationally controlled substances for relief of pain &amp; suffering, India scored 33 \/100.<\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The inaugural Global Drug Policy Index was released by the Harm Reduction Consortium, on November 7, 2021.
