Andhra Pradesh<\/strong> has been named as the best marine state<\/strong> in the country by the Department of Fisheries<\/strong>. Union Minister for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying Parshottam Rupala announced the awards at a programme to celebrate World Fisheries Day in Bhubaneswar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Department of Fisheries under the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying awarded\u00a0best performing States for 2021-22<\/strong>\u00a0on 21 November 2021 on the occasion of the \u2018World Fisheries Day, to recognize their accomplishments in the field and their contribution into the growth of the sector.\u00a0The awards were announced by the Union Minister for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying Parshottam Rupala in Bhubaneswar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

      Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on November 21 inaugurated two new centres at IIT Guwahati. The new centres are the Centre for Nanotechnology (CNT) and the Centre for Indian Knowledge System (CIKS). The Minister also launched two hostels at the campus. Along with Union Education Minister, Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu and Member of Parliament Queen Oja marked their presence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      The CNT will work towards meeting future challenges and augmenting academic partnerships with industry in Nanotechnology. The Centre for Indian Knowledge System (CIKS) will focus on preserving, documenting and sustaining the knowledge that is unique to India, IIT Guwahati said. The top priorities include Indian classical music, Yoga, Sanskrit, traditional medicines, temple architecture, ceramic tradition and special agricultural practices of North-East India, among other things. The funding for the Centre came from Ministry of Education (MoE) and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY).<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

      Chennai:<\/strong> The 20th edition of CONNECT 2021, the flagship event of the Confederation of Indian Industry with an aim to take the state\u2019s GDP to US$ 1 trillion by 2030, will be held in Chennai from November 26 to 27. Connect is an international conference and exhibition on information & communication technology (ICT).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      CII Tamil Nadu President S Chandrakumar said Chief Minister MK Stalin would inaugurate the event on November 26 and the theme would be \u201cBuilding a Sustainable Deep Technology\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      This year\u2019s CII Connect aims at deliberating on the theme of \u201cBuilding a Sustainable Deep T\u2019ech\u2019N\u2019ology Ecosystem\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      The event will be inaugurated by the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin on November 26, 2021. Australia and the United Kingdom are the partner countries for the event. The flagship event of CII is hosted by the Government of Tamil Nadu and co-hosted by Software Technology Parks of India and the Union Ministry of Electronics and Telecommunications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

      El Salvador is mulling to build the world\u2019s first \u2018Bitcoin City.\u2019 Making an official announcement in this regard, President Nayib Bukele said that El Salvador\u2019s \u2018Bitcoin City\u2019 plan will be funded initially by bitcoin bonds. doubling down on the country\u2019s bet on the cryptocurrency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      It would get geothermal power from a volcano. Bitcoin City will not levy any taxes except for value-added tax (VAT). One-half of this VAT levied will be used to fund the bonds issued to build the city and the next half would be used to pay for services such as garbage collection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

      The Russian military carried out another successful test of its Zircon hypersonic cruise missile, one of the latest additions to the country\u2019s arsenal of weapons called \u201cinvincible\u201d by President Vladimir Putin. The missile was launched from the Admiral Gorshkov warship towards a test target set in Arctic waters of the White Sea in northern Russia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Venezuela\u2019s National System of Youth and Children\u2019s Orchestras \u2013 known as \u201cEl Sistema\u201d \u2013 has set a new Guinness record for the world\u2019s largest orchestra with 8,573 musicians playing together for more than five minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      The record was set by the country\u2019s National System of Youth and Children\u2019s Orchestras, known as \u201cEl Sistema\u201d. The previous record for an orchestra was made by Russia when 8,097 musicians played together in St. Petersburg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

      Employees\u2019 Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), its the meeting of its Central Board of Trustees (CBT), has approved measures to invest up to 5 % of its annual deposits in infrastructure investment trusts (InvITs) and other alternative funds. This investment will offer diversification to the EPFO\u2019s investment basket.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      The CBT empowered Finance Investment and Audit Committee (FIAC) to decide upon the investment options, on a case-to-case basis, for investment in asset classes included in the Pattern of Investment notified by the Centre.\u00a0However, the board has also decided to focus only on government-backed alternatives, which are category one funds like public sector InvITs and bonds. The AIFs are regulated by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI).<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

      SBI Research has revised upwards India\u2019s GDP growth projection to a range of 9.3%-9.6% for FY 22 (2021-22) as the country recorded only an 11% increase in Covid cases during July-September (Q3) 2021 period, second-lowest among the top 15 most affected countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Earlier this was estimated in the range of 8.5%-9%. The reason for the upward revision is the decline in the number of COVID cases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n
