[ PART 1 ]: UPSC Daily Important Topic | 24 November 2021"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>\u25a1 Strong centre<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u25c7 The division of powers is in favour of the Centre and highly inequitable from the federal angle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Firstly, the Union List contains more subjects than the State List.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022\u00a0 Secondly, the more important subjects have been included in the Union List.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Thirdly, the Centre has overriding authority over the Concurrent List.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Finally, the residuary powers have also been left with the Centre, while in the US, they are vested in the states.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u25a1\u00a0<strong> States Not Indestructible<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u25c7 Unlike in other federations, the states in India have no right to territorial integrity.
