It was initially founded in 1912 as the International Amateur Athletic Federation. The name change had been suggested in a bid to make the sport more accessible. The body is currently presided over by Britain\u2019s two-time Olympic 1500m gold medallist Sebastian Coe. The headquarters of IAAF is located in Monaco.
