The test was conducted at Integrated Test Range (ITR), Chandipur off the Odisha coast. A total of 25 enhanced Pinaka rockets were reportedly fired from multi-barrel rocket launchers (MRLs) at several ranges during the test. The range version can destroy the target of up to 45 km. At the same time, the flight path of these missiles was tracked by range instruments including telemetry, radar, and electro-optical tracking system deployed by ITR and Proof and Experimental Establishment (PXE).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The system has been designed by DRDO Laboratory Armament Research and Development Establishment (ARDE) along with High Energy Materials Research Laboratory (HEMRL), Pune, the technology has been transferred to the Indian industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About the Pinaka-ER<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Pinaka-ER is the upgraded version of the earlier version which has been in service with the Army for the last decade. These institutes will start undergraduate and diploma courses and an advisory council will be created.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (Amendment) Bill, 2021<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It aims to establish a Council to coordinate institutions\u2019 activities and will also ensure the development of pharmaceutical education and research and maintenance of standards. It was introduced in Lok Sabha on 15 March, 2021 and later,&nbsp;it was thereafter referred to the Standing Committee on Chemicals and Fertilizers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gkseries.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/download-2021-12-13T124004.633.jpg\" alt=\"Indian Mathematician Neena Gupta receives Ramanujan Prize 2021\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Indian Mathematician&nbsp;Professor&nbsp;<strong>Neena Gupta,<\/strong>&nbsp;a mathematician at the&nbsp;Indian Statistical Institute (ISI) in Kolkata was&nbsp;awarded the \u2018Ramanujan Prize for Young Mathematicians from Developing Countries 2021\u2019 for her outstanding work in&nbsp;affine algebraic geometry and commutative algebra, the Ministry of Science and Technology informed, adding that Professor Neena is the third woman to receive the Ramanujan Prize since its inception in 2004.&nbsp;Professor Neena Gupta, a mathematician at the Indian Statistical Institute (ISI) in Kolkata. She is the 3<sup>RD<\/sup>&nbsp;&nbsp;woman to receive Ramanujan Prize, which was first awarded in<strong>&nbsp;2005<\/strong>&nbsp;and is administered by Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics jointly with Dept Science and Technology and International Mathematical Union.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Neena Gupta\u2019s journey as a mathematician:<\/strong>&nbsp;After graduating with mathematics honours from Bethune College, Kolkata, in 2006, Neena Gupta went on to complete her post-graduation from the Indian Statistical Institute.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following her post-graduation, Professor Gupta pursued her Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in algebraic geometry and in the year 2014 went on to publish her first research paper on Zariski\u2019s \u2018cancellation problem\u2019. Her paper received an award and was widely recognised by other mathematicians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Awards and Honours:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2014, Professor Neena Gupta had received the&nbsp;<strong>\u2018Young Scientist award<\/strong>&nbsp;from the Indian National Science Academy, which called her work among one of the best done so far in algebraic geometry in recent years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2019, Professor Gupta became one of the youngest people to receive the \u2018Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize\u2019&nbsp;at the age of&nbsp;35. She has successfully solved&nbsp;a 70-year-old mathematics puzzle \u2013&nbsp;Zariski\u2019s Cancellation Problem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gkseries.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/download-2021-12-13T124432.582.jpg\" alt=\"NITI Aayog To Launch 1,000 Atal Tinkering Labs in Jammu and Kashmir\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>NITI Aayog has planned to establish 1,000 Atal Tinkering Laboratories in Jammu and Kashmir. Out of these, 187 will be established by the end of this financial year. It was conveyed at a high-level meeting headed by Chief Secretary Arun Kumar Mehta to take stock of arrangements for opening Atal Tinkering Laboratories (ATL) in various educational institutions of Jammu and Kashmir.
