The aim is to empower people with access to digital payments through \u2018payments on WhatsApp\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>At the Fuel For India 2021 event:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>WhatsApp announced the Digital Payments Utsav \u2013 a pilot program that is going to adopt 500 villages in Karnataka and Maharashtra in an effort to \u201caccelerate financial inclusion\u201d.<\/li><li>The pilot called \u2018Digital Payments Utsav\u2019, began on October 15 in Kyathanahalli village in Mandya district of Karnataka, where villagers were familiarised with various aspects of digital payments including signing up for UPI, setting up a UPI account and safety best practices of using digital payments.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gkseries.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/download-2021-12-18T133524.133.jpg\" alt=\"Sports Minister Anurag Thakur inaugurates Khelo India Women\u2019s Hockey League\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Union Sports minister Anurag Thakur on Wednesday inaugurated the first-ever national-level Khelo India Women\u2019s Hockey League (Under 21) at the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium&nbsp;<strong>in New Delhi<\/strong>. The winner of the&nbsp;<strong>Khelo India Women\u2019s Hockey League<\/strong>&nbsp;will get a cash prize of&nbsp;<strong>30 lakhs.<\/strong>&nbsp;In the first phase, total of 14 teams are competing in the first phase of the tournament to be held from December 15 to 21. As many as 42 matches will be played during the first phase, while the second and third phase will be held early next year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The second and third phases will be organized in early next year. The Sports Authority of India and Hockey India are jointly organizing the first-ever national-level Khelo India league.
