The report, titled \u201cHealthy States, Progressive India\u201d, ranks states and Union Territories on their year-on-year incremental performance in health outcomes as well as their overall status. The index is developed by: NITI Aayog, World Bank, and Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW). The report, titled&nbsp;<strong>\u201cHealthy States, Progressive India\u201d,<\/strong>&nbsp;ranks states and Union Territories on their year-on-year incremental performance in health outcomes as well as their overall status. The index is being compiled and published since 2017. The reports aim to nudge states\/UTs towards building robust health systems and improving service delivery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>To ensure comparison among similar entities, the ranking is categorised as \u2018Larger States\u2019, \u2018Smaller States\u2019 and \u2018Union Territories\u2019:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Among the&nbsp;\u2018Larger States\u2019,&nbsp;in terms of annual incremental performance,&nbsp;Uttar Pradesh, Assam and Telangana&nbsp;are the top three ranking states.<\/li><li>Among&nbsp;\u2018Smaller States\u2019, Mizoram and Meghalaya&nbsp;registered the maximum annual incremental progress.<\/li><li>Among&nbsp;UTs,&nbsp;Delhi, followed by Jammu and Kashmir,&nbsp;showed the best incremental performance.<\/li><li>On overall ranking based on the composite index score in 2019\u201320, the top-ranking states were Kerala and Tamil Nadu among the \u2018Larger States\u2019, Mizoram and Tripura among the \u2018Smaller States\u2019, and DH&amp;DD and Chandigarh among the UTs.<\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>NITI Aayog has released the fourth edition of the&nbsp;State Health Index&nbsp;for 2019\u201320.
