These advisories, inter-alia, include\ngender sensitization of the police personnel, adopting appropriate measures for\nswift and salutary punishment to public servants found guilty of custodial\nviolence against women, minimizing delays in investigations of murder, rape and\ntorture of women and improving its quality, setting up a \u2018crime against women\ncell\u2019 in districts where they do not exist, providing adequate counseling\ncenters and shelter homes for women who have been victimized, setting up of\nspecial women courts, and improving effectiveness of schemes developed for the\nwelfare and rehabilitation of women who are victimized with greater emphasis on\nincome generation to make the women more independent and self- reliant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gkseries.com\/blog\/current-affairs-quiz-2019-daily-gk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Daily Current Affairs Quiz 2019<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The Government\nof India is deeply concerned with this trend and ground situation and would\ntherefore reemphasize that urgent action should be taken on the following:-<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Crime prone areas should be identified and a\nmechanism be put in place to monitor infractions in schools\/colleges for\nensuring safety and security of female students. Women police officers in\nadequate number fully equipped with policing infrastructure may be posted in\nsuch areas.<\/li><li>There should be no delay whatsoever in\nregistration of FIR in all cases of crime against women.<\/li><li>All out efforts should be made to apprehend all\nthe accused named in the FIR immediately so as to generate confidence in the\nvictims and their family members.<\/li><li>Cases should be thoroughly investigated and\ncharge sheets against the accused persons should be filed within three months\nfrom the date of occurrence, without compromising on the quality of\ninvestigation. The medical examination of rape victims should be conducted\nwithout delay.<\/li><li>Help-line numbers of the crime against women\ncells should be exhibited prominently in hospitals\/schools\/colleges premises,\nand in other suitable places.<\/li><li>Women police cells in the police stations and\nexclusive women police stations should be set up as needed.<\/li><li>Police officials charged with the responsibility\nof protecting women should be sensitized adequately.<\/li><li>Police personnel should be trained adequately in\nspecial laws dealing with atrocities against women. Enforcement aspect should\nbe emphasized adequately so as to streamline it.<\/li><li>Women police officials in the State Police Force\nshould be recruited widely.<\/li><li>Close coordination between the police and the\nNGOs dealing with the interests of women may be ensured.<\/li><li>The local police should arrange for patrolling\nin the affected areas and more especially in the locality of the weaker\nsections of the society. Periodic visits by DM &amp; SP will create a sense of\nsafety and security among these sections of the people.<\/li><li>Through counseling through professional\ncounselors is required for victims as well as her family to overcome the trauma\nof the crime.<\/li><li>The effectiveness of schemes developed for\nwelfare and rehabilitation of women who have been victimized should be\nimproved.<\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Government of India have been advising the State Governments from time to time regarding the steps that need to be taken to afford a greater measure of protection to the women and in particular to prevent incidence of crimes against them.
