The Memorandum of Understanding\n(MoU) was signed on 2nd December 2019 during the visit of Their Majesties of\nthe Kingdom of Sweden to India. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gkseries.com\/blog\/current-affairs-quiz-2019-daily-gk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Daily Current\nAffairs Quiz 2020<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>India and Sweden are both signatories to the Antarctic\nTreaty and to the Protocol to the Antarctic Treaty on Environmental Protection.\nSweden as one of the eight &#8220;Arctic States&#8221; is one of the Member State\nin the Arctic Council whereas India has the Observer Status in the Arctic\nCouncil. Sweden has a vigorous scientific program in the Polar Regions, both in\nArctic and Antarctic. India likewise, has sustained scientific research\nprograms in both the Polar Regions as well as in the oceanic realm.
