Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami has announced a new scheme, the \u2018Direct CTO scheme for Green Industries\u2019 to relax the process for pre-establishment clearances for green category industries. Under the new scheme, the green industries just need to apply for consent to establish, and don\u2019t have to wait till obtaining final approvals to commence construction work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The move would largely benefit micro, small and medium\nenterprises planning to set up operations in the state. Noting that companies\nfalling under the ”white” category do not require consent from the pollution\ncontrol board. ”Red” category industries are those which have a pollution\nindex score of 60 and above, ”orange” category are with 41 to 59, ”green”\ncategory industrial sectors are of 21 to 40 and ”white” category industries\nare from 0 to 20.
