The Benaras Hindu University\u2019s\nDepartment of Ancient Indian History, Culture and Archaeology which did a\npreliminary survey of the site in Babhaniyav village, 13 km from Varanasi had\nfound remnants of one of the settlements that have been mentioned in various\nliteratures surrounding the holy city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gkseries.com\/blog\/current-affairs-quiz-2019-daily-gk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Daily Current Affairs Quiz 2020<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Varanasi is in southeastern Uttar Pradesh state. Its early history is that of the first Aryan settlement in\nthe middle Ganges valley.
