The already receding Gangotri glacier seems to have more bad\nnews in store.  Black carbon\nconcentration in the region increases by 400 times during summer, according to\na study. The study suggests agricultural burning and forest fire as the reason\nbehind this seasonal increase. This can trigger glacial melt because of the\nlight-absorbing nature of black carbon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
