Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) has launched the \u2018Waste to Wealth Creation\u2019 programme for women in the Sundarbans in West Bengal. In this, the women will make ornaments and showpieces from the fish scales. SIDBI will extend benefits to 50 women indirectly generating revenues from alternate livelihoods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under this programme,\u00a0Later, these women are expected to become a trainer for replicating and disseminating the knowledge among other aspirants. This is a part of mission Swavalamban of SIDBI that aims to support artisans to become sustainable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

US-Bangladesh to conduct joint air exercise \u2018Cope South 22\u2019<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The air forces of Bangladesh and the United States<\/strong> will conduct a joint tactical airlift exercise \u2018Cope South 22\u2019 f<\/strong>rom February 20, 2022. The six day long Pacific Air Forces-sponsored, bilateral tactical airlift exercise \u2018Cope South 22\u2019 will be conducted at BAF Kurmitola Cantonment, Dhaka, and Operating Location-Alpha, Sylhet, Bangladesh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The goal of the exercise is bolstering bilateral ties between the two countries through tactical airlift sorties and subject-matter expert exchanges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NPCI International partners with Gateway Payment Service and Manam Infotech to deploy UPI solution in Nepal<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

NPCI International Payments Limited (NIPL) has partnered with Gateway Payments Service Pvt Ltd and Manam Infotech Private Limited to deploy Unified Payments Interface(UPI) in Nepal. Nepal will be the first country to adopt India\u2019s UPI system, which will play a pivotal role in transforming the digital economy of the neighbouring country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gateway Payments Service Pvt Ltd is an authorized Payment System Operators in Nepal. The collaboration will serve the larger digital public good in Nepal and bolster interoperable real-time person-to-person (P2P) and person-to-merchant (P2M) transactions in the neighbouring country, NPCI said in a statement. Nepal shall be the first country outside of India to adopt UPI as the payments platform driving the digitalization of cash transactions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is Tips feature of Twitter?<\/strong> Using the Tips feature, users can send payments to their favourite content creators on twitter. Tips is available since November to all Twitter users above 18 years of age in India on the iOS and Android platforms. It is available in Indian languages including Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Marathi and Tamil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With this partnership,\u00a0Twitter users will be able to use the payments facility of Paytm<\/strong>,\u00a0including its Paytm digital wallet, Paytm Postpaid (buy-now-pay-later service), debit and credit cards, and net banking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Outlay:<\/strong> The estimated total outlay of \u201cNew India Literacy Programme\u201d is Rs.1037.90 crore which includes Central share of Rs.700 crore and State share of Rs.337.90 crore respectively for the FYs 2022 -27.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Who will be covered:<\/strong> The scheme will cover non-literates of the age of 15 years and above in all state\/UTs in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
