Nirmala Sitharaman launched the e-Bill system for Central Government Ministries on the 46<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;Civil Accounts Day i.e March 02, 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The objectives of the system are to:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>a)&nbsp;Provide convenience to all vendors\/suppliers of the government to submit their bills\/claims at any time, from anywhere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>b) Eliminate physical interface between suppliers and government officers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>c) Enhance efficiency in the processing of bills\/claims.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>d) Reduce discretion in the processing of bills through the \u201cFirst-In-First-Out\u201d(FIFO) method.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The e-Bill system has been&nbsp;developed by the Public Financial Management System (PFMS)&nbsp;Division of the Ministry of Finance.
