This will generate awareness about the usages of generic medicines and benefits of Jan Aushadhi Pariyojana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The theme of Janaushadhi Diwas 2022 is \u201cJan Aushadhi-Jan Upyogi\u201d. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

5th UN Environment Assembly concludes in Nairobi with 14 resolutions<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The 5th United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA-5)<\/strong> was held on a hybrid format in Nairobi from 28 February to 02 March 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The overall theme for UNEA-5 was \u201cStrengthening Actions for Nature to Achieve the Sustainable Development Goals,\u201d highlighting the pivotal role nature plays in our lives and in social, economic and environmental sustainable development. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The assembly concluded with\u00a014 resolutions\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>to strengthen international action for climate, nature and a pollution-free planet to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals. The United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA) brings together representatives of the 193 Member States of the UN, businesses, civil society and other stakeholders to agree on policies to address the world\u2019s most pressing environmental challenges.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Iran successfully launches second military satellite Noor-2 into orbit<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Iran\u2019s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC)<\/strong> successfully launched a military satellite, Noor-2<\/strong>, the satellite, which was manufactured by the Aerospace Force of Iran\u2019s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) and launched on the indigenous three-stage, mixed-fuel Qased (Messenger) carrier, is orbiting at an altitude of 500 kilometers from earth,<\/strong> on March 08, 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is the\u00a0second military satellite launched by Islamic Republic.<\/strong>\u00a0The first military satellite, Noor, was launched in April 2020 at an orbit of 425km (265 miles) above the earth\u2019s surface.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Russia surpasses Iran to become world\u2019s most sanctioned country<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Russia has become the most sanctioned country in the world, due to its invasion on Ukraine, according to a New York-based sanctions watchlist site Castellum.AI. Russia faced 2,778 new sanctions since February 22, 2022, led by the US and European nations, bringing the total sanctions to 5,530<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Russia faced 2,754 sanctions before Feb. 22, making it the second-most sanctioned country in the world behind Iran. However, since President\u00a0Vladimir Putin ordered troops\u00a0into eastern Ukraine on Feb. 21, sanctions against Russia have skyrocketed to 5,532. Before this, Iran was the most sanctioned\u00a0 country, facing 3,616 sanctions against it over the last decade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

9th India-Sri Lanka Bilateral Maritime Exercise SLINEX to be held at Visakhapatnam<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Ninth Edition of India \u2013 Sri Lanka Bilateral Maritime Exercise SLINEX (Sri Lanka\u2013India Naval Exercise) is scheduled at Visakhapatnam from 07 Mar to 10 Mar 2022. The exercise is being conducted in two phases; the Harbour Phase at Visakhapatnam on 07-08 Mar 22 followed by the Sea Phase on 09-10 Mar 22 in the Bay of Bengal. Indian Navy will be represented by\u00a0INS Kirch, a guided missile corvette<\/strong>\u00a0while Sri Lanka Navy will be represented by SLNS Sayurala, an advanced offshore patrol vessel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

C-DAC Commissions \u201cPARAM Ganga\u201d Supercomputer at IIT Roorkee under National Supercomputing Mission<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) has designed and commissioned a supercomputer named \u201cPARAM Ganga\u201d,  at IIT Roorkee on March 07, 2022, under Phase II of National Supercomputing Mission (NSM).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PARAM Ganga has a supercomputing capacity of 1.66 Petaflops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

RBI launches \u201cBE(A)WARE\u201d \u2013 A Booklet on Modus Operandi of Financial Frauds<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Reserve Bank has released a booklet, \u201cBE(A)WARE\u201d on the common modus operandi<\/em> used by fraudsters and precautions to be taken while carrying out various financial transactions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The booklet aims to enhance public awareness about various types of financial frauds perpetrated on gullible customers while carrying out digital payments and other financial transactions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

RBI launches UPI123pay for feature phones and DigiSaathi- a 24\u00d77 Helpline for Digital Payments<\/a><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das has launched UPI for feature phones called UPI123Pay. He also launched 24\u00d77 helpline for digital payments \u2013 DigiSaathi. UPI on feature phones will help people in rural areas who cannot afford a smartphone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

UPI123pay presently offers four mediums\/options to the users of feature phones to make UPI payments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
