The fourth India-US 2 plus 2 Ministerial Dialogue will get underway in Washington. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar will lead the Indian delegation. The US delegation will be led by Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar lead the Indian delegation. The United States Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and Secretary of Defence Lloyd Austin lead the US delegation. The First two plus two dialogue was held in New Delhi in September 2018, followed by the Second in Washington DC in 2019, while the third one again in New Delhi in October 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ADB approves $2 million loan to support urban development in Nagaland<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) on Tuesday signed an agreement with the Government of India to offer $2 million project readiness financing (PRF) loan for designing climate-resilient urban infrastructure, strengthening institutional capacity and improving municipal resource mobilisation in Nagaland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The PRF loan will be used for designing water supply, sanitation, solid waste management and urban roads in 16 district headquarter towns (DHTs) with climate resilient features and improved access to poor and vulnerable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

UNDP & AIM announces $2.2 million in climate action grants for innovators across 19 countries<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and partners of the Adaptation Innovation Marketplace (AIM) have announced $2.2 million in climate action grants for 22 local innovators across 19 countries, including India. The funding will be done through Adaptation Fund Climate Innovation Accelerator (AFCIA) window.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first round of funding will enhance local climate action and accelerate the delivery of targets outlined in the Paris Agreement and Sustainable Development Goals. AIM will provide technical support and know-how to the Adaptation Fund Climate Innovation Accelerator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ACI publishes list of top 10 busiest airports in the world for 2021<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Airports Council International (ACI) World has published the top 10 busiest airports worldwide for 2021 showing encouraging signs of traffic recovery as many previous busiest airports rejoin the top rank. Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) has topped the list with 75.7 million passengers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dallas\/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) 62.5 million passengers) is second, followed by Denver International Airport (DEN, 58.8 million passengers) at third spot. Among the top 10 airports for passenger traffic, 8 are in the United States with the two remaining in China.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NMDC Wins One Gold and One Silver Awards at 80th SKOCH Summit 2022<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

NMDC is the largest iron ore producer of India. The Gold Award has been won by NMDC in the social responsibility category for the project \u2018Promotion of Technical Education & Skill Development in Dantewada District through NMDC ITI Bhansi\u2019. Number of domestic patent filings surpasses international filings for first time in 11 years: Ministry of Commerce<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

For the first time in 11 years, the number of domestic patent filings has exceeded that of international patent filings in India in the three months to March 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the\u00a0January-March quarter of 2022, a total of 19796 patent applications were filed,\u00a0which included 10,706 patents filed by Indian applicants and 9,090 by non-Indian applicants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mumbai and Hyderabad recognised as \u20182021 Tree City of the World\u2019 by UN-FAO<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Mumbai and Hyderabad has been recognised as \u20182021 Tree City of the World\u2019 by the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (UN) jointly with Arbor Day Foundation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The two Indian cities have won the recognition for their \u201ccommitment to growing and maintaining urban trees and greenery in building healthy, resilient and happy cities\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It must be noted that Hyderabad has been recognised for a second consecutive year. In 2021, Hyderabad was the only city in India to be recognised as a \u2018 2020 Tree City of the World\u2019. A total of 136 other cities from 21 countries are part of the premium listing. The US has 37 cities on the list while the UK has 19 and Canada 18, showing that developed countries have a higher share of green cities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Union Minister Amit Shah inaugurates Conference of Culture and Tourism Ministers \u2018Amrit Samagam\u2019<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

On the occasion of the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, Ministry of Culture, Government of India, has organized the  two-day conference on April 12 and 13, 2022, in New Delhi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The conference was inaugurated by Minister of Home and Co-operation, Shri Amit Shah. The opening address was delivered by Minister of Culture, Tourism and Development of North Eastern Region of India (DoNER), Shri G. Kishan Reddy. Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs and Culture, Smt. Meenakashi Lekhi, Minister of State for External Affairs and Culture were also present on the occasion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The purpose of this conference is to\u00a0deliberate on the progress of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav\u00a0so far, and gather best practices and idea on the strategies to be adopted for the remaining period of the celebration, especially for upcoming crucial initiatives. During the conference,\u00a0Union Minister for Tourism, Culture and DONER Shri G.
