COMPARISON BETWEEN PRISMATIC COMPASS AND SURVEYOR’S COMPASS
PRISMATIC COMPASS-
- Graduated ring attached to magnetic needle.
- Graduated are marked on the ring in clock wise direction with 0 degree or 360 degree at south end.
- Sighting and reading bearing are done simultaneously.
- This can be used with or without stand.
SURVEYOR’S COMPASS—
- Graduated ring being attached with the compass box.
- Graduation are marked both anti-clock wise direction dividing the ring 0 degree to 90 degree in each quadrant. Zero are at north or south and 90 degree at east or west.
- Sighting first and then taken reading by marked eye by going over the box.
- This can not be used without stand.
