India Launches Largest-Ever Tribal Empowerment Campaign
The MoTA recently announced the DhartiAaba Janbhagidari Abhiyan, the largest tribal empowerment campaign ever in India and a big step towards inclusive governance and last mile service delivery. The campaign aims to saturate the government benefits across 549 tribal districts, 2900+ blocks, and 207 specially vulnerable tribal group (PVTG) districts over nearly 1 lakh villages and habitations. Union Tribal Affairs Minister Shri Jual Oram said it was a historic moment towards realizing Antyodaya and Viksit Bharat.
The DhartiAaba Janbhagidari Abhiyan, which is the Government of India’s flagship scheme for empowering tribal communities through the delivery of entitlements, is an ambitious campaign launched on June 15, 2025 and the campaign will run until June 30, 2025. The campaign also coincides with the launch of Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh and also supports the implementation of PM-JANMAN and DAJGUA. The campaign represents a historic convergence of ministries and all stakeholders to fully saturate and ensure that not a single tribal household is left behind in receiving their rightful entitlements.

It as a key initiative under Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh, the campaign honors the legacy, culture, and contribution of India’s tribal communities, while ensuring the delivery of rights and development at their doorstep.
