P. Sivakami Honoured with Verchol Dalit Literary Award 2025

On April 13, 2025, renowned writer, retired IAS officer, and social activist P. Sivakami received the Verchol Dalit Literary Award from Neelam Cultural Centre, founded by Pa. Ranjith, in Chennai, along with a ₹1 lakh prize.
In her speech, Sivakami emphasized Dalit identity, the resistance and power of Dalit literature, its role in challenging dominant narratives, and the importance of writing in English for broader impact, while celebrating the rise of Dalit voices in literature.
