The 2024 Summer Olympics took place in Paris, France from July 26 to August 11, 2024.
Highlights:
- The host city, Paris has hosted the Games a third time celebrating the centenary from the Games in 1924.
- Gender parity, Paris 2024 was the first Olympic Games in history to have a completely gender-balanced field of play.
- New sports were introduced, breaking (breakdancing) was new to the Olympics.
- The opening ceremony had athletes parade for the first time outside a stadium via boat along the Seine river.
