
The Rashtriya Indian Military College, based in Dehradun, is a Ministry of Defense establishment that supports education and training for Indian boys who will attend the Royal Military College, Sandhurst and other military organizations.
Facilities and Buildings:
The RIMC campus, with its 138-acre space, is outfitted with modern resources to help cadets develop and learn all they need to know. The school provides a strong academic background as well as many sports activities such as boxing, football, cricket, athletics, horse riding, hockey, squash and swimming. Some of India’s top athletes in squash, shooting and horse riding came from RIMC.
Admission Process:
Acceptance into RIMC happens twice a year, as 25 cadets are admitted each time. Anyone joining must be studying in Class VII and be between 11.5 and 13 years old. Candidates must pass an English, Mathematics and General Knowledge test and then take a Viva-Voce and a medical examination. A candidate must get a minimum of 50% in every subject to pass.
Notable Alumni:
Many RIMC graduates have become prominent leaders in the army and outside it. Four Chiefs of Army Staff and two Chiefs of Air Staff have graduated from this college in India, along with many notable military leaders from nearby countries. Because of this, RIMC is notable for how it has shaped military leadership in the area.
