Atmanirbhar Assam

The Atmanirbhar Assam scheme is made up of several scheme to bring self-reliance and entrepreneurship among the people of Assam. The two primary schemes under such an initiative are:

1. Chief Minister’s Atmanirbhar Asom Abhijan (CMAAA)

Aim: Create job opportunities through providing support for new entrepreneurial ventures among the youth of Assam.

Key Conditions:

• Financial Support: Eligible beneficiaries can receive financial support either ₹2 lakh to ₹5 lakh:

   o ₹2 lakh to individuals with qualifications as graduation, ITI, polytechnic diploma, matriculation. – Chief Minister of Assam

   o ₹5 lakh for individuals with professional degrees, e.g. engineering, medical, dental, veterinary, fishery, agriculture.- Chief Minister of Assam

• Provide 50% grant amount and 50% interest free government loan.- Chief Minister of Assam

• Whom it is for: I want to support 2 lakh youth, eligible to receive the support over two years. 1 lakh in FY 2023-24, and another 1 lakh in FY 2024-25.- Assam Career

Eligibility Conditions:

• The applicant must be a resident of Assam. – myScheme

• Age between 28 to 45. – The Times of India

• No specific education but guidelines differ from category (general, SC, ST, OBC).- The Times of India

• Only 1 Beneficiary for each family or single PC. – The Times of India

• All applications must be submitted only online at: cmaaa.assam.gov.in

Application Process:

• The first step is to register on the portal.

• Once registered, you must provide relevant details and upload supporting documents like your identity proof, qualification, bank accounts, PAN, and employment exchange registration cards. – cmaaa.assam.gov.in

2. Swanirbhar Nari – Atmanirbhar Assam Scheme.

Objective: To increase the power of needy women by selling and promoting their hand-woven goods and ensuring they get fair prices.

Key Features:

It ensures that weavers get no middlemen between them and the buyers, as the scheme makes purchases direct from the weavers. It allows members to gain training in weaving and how to use weaving tools and equipment.

Showroom and Online Marketing: Helps reach a larger population and make more sales.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Must have been living in Assam for at least five years.
  • It is important to have a handloom in your collection.
  • The applicant should have a working bank account that is part of the CBS system.
  • Preference is given to someone with a valid handloom passbook issued by the Directorate of Handloom & Textiles, Assam.

Application Process:

  • They must enroll themselves on the “Swanirbhar Naari” portal: swanirbharnaari.assam.gov.in.
  • To register, you need to complete all the required details and upload the expected documents.
  • Checking by officials is done before giving approval to the equipment.
