Assamese cinema, also known as Jollywood, refers to the film industry in the Assamese language based in the Indian state of Assam. It has a rich history that spans several decades. Assamese films have won many national recognition. Let’s discuss some notable assamese movies and directors.

- Jyotiprasad Agarwala: He is perceived as the father of Assamese Cinema and his films such as Joymoti (1935), Indramalati (1939).
- Bhabendra Nath Saikia: He is both a director and writer with the films Agnisnaan (1985), Abartan (1993), and Sarothi (1991) being associated with him.
