The SCO was established in 2001 with the aim of boosting regional security and fostering economic collaboration. It comprises key Eurasian nations, including China, Russia, and India. China’s Healthcare Commitments
China pledged to assist SCO countries with medical support for the next 5 years. The plan includes treating 500 patients with congenital heart disease. It also involves 5,000 cataract operations and 10,000 cancer screenings. These efforts aim to improve public health across the SCO region. This reflects China’s emphasis on practical cooperation and people’s welfare.
Significance of the Tianjin SCO Plus Summit
The 2025 summit was the largest SCO gathering so far. It was the fifth time China hosted the event. The meeting included 20 heads of state and leaders of international organisations. The Tianjin Declaration was adopted, focusing on economic and security cooperation. The summit brought into light the growing importance of SCO as a regional and global actor.
