
The National Conference of Textiles Ministers will take place in Guwahati from January 8–9, focusing on positioning India as a leading global hub for textile manufacturing. This event organised by the Union Ministry of Textiles in partnership with the Government of Assam, the conference will be held under the theme:
“India’s Textiles: Weaving Growth, Heritage & Innovation.”
The conference aimed to achieve a US billion textile economy and US billion in exports by 2030.

– Attendees: Notable figures included Union Minister of Textiles, Shri Giriraj Singh; Chief Minister of Assam, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma; Minister of State for Textiles, Shri Pabitra Margherita; along with various state textile ministers and senior officials.
– Exhibition: An exhibition and pavilion were launched to highlight India’s textile innovations, strengths, and rich heritage.
