Assamese music artist Manas Robin has launched the Manas Army initiative to create skill-based employment for educated but unemployed youth in the State. Designed as a digital marketplace, the project connects trained local workers with households and businesses through a dedicated mobile app.
Nearly 2,000 youths have already been trained and will now provide on-demand services such as electrical and plumbing work, driving, gardening, carpentry, laundry, beautician services and other household/commercial tasks. By formalising informal work, the platform aims to boost incomes, promote self-reliance, and keep job opportunities within local communities.
