Dili Terang, a noted Karbi folk artiste and musician, has been selected for the Bokul-bon Award 2026 for his significant contribution to the preservation and promotion of Assam’s folk culture.
The Bakul Ban Awards annually to individuals who have made outstanding contributions in various fields of Assam for the past several years. The Bokul-bon Award was last conferred on Mridul Das, highlighting its role in recognising sustained excellence in folk and traditional arts.
The award honors individuals who have dedicated themselves to the preservation of Assamese arts, culture, literature and folk heritage and brings their contributions to the public attention. The awards were presented to Dili Terang, a prominent folk artist of Karbi Anglong, at a function held at the Mahapurush Sankardev Arts and Culture Research Center in Jorhat.
