Nokia partners with IISc to set up networked robotics Center of Excellence

Finnish telecom gear maker Nokia has partnered with Indian Institute of Science to set-up Nokia Center of Excellence in networked robotics at IISc Bengaluru. Researchers at IIT Madras have created a ground-breaking technique that may pinpoint a person’s cancer-causing genes. The “Pivot,” an AI-based tool, will assist clinicians in developing individualized treatment plans for patients based on patient DNA profiles. The tool is built on a machine learning model that classifies genes into cancer-preventing tumour suppressors, oncogenes that cause cancer, and neutral genes.
