Chhattisgarh launched Mukhyamantri Suposhan Abhiyan with an aim to tackle the menace of malnutrition and anemia. The CG Mukhyamantri Suposhan scheme will benefit mothers and children.
There were over 4.37 lakh, malnourished children, in the Chhattisgarh State at the time of the scheme ‘s launch, and, according to the WCD department, the figure was reduced to 3.69 lakh by March this year.
The scheme was launched as malnutrition is a challenge for the Chhattisgarh state and the entire country.
The data by the state officials stated that the per capita income in the state has increased in the past 18 years. But the poor became poorer and Chhattisgarh has around 37%, malnourished people.
The State government of Chhattisgarh stated that the number of malnourished children has been decreased by 13.97% under the Mukhyamantri Suposhan Yojana on 15 June 2020.
The scheme will be implemented by the Women and child welfare department of the state.
