Anand Follows as Second-Ranked Indian
Following Erigaisi is thefive-time world champion Viswanathan Anand, who is thesecond-ranked Indianon the FIDE list. The21-year-old Erigaisicollectedeight pointsin the5th Shengzhen Chess Masters and Bundesliga, which propelled him to theninth positionon the list.

Anand is on the11th spotin the ratings with arating of 2751. Anand is followed by theCandidates troikaof18-year-old Praggnanandhaa R,17-year-old Gukesh D, andVidit Santosh Gujrathi(29 years old), who will all be in action at the prestigiousCandidates tournamentlater this week.

Candidates Tournament Favorites
