Mohammed Siraj appointed as My11Circle Brand Ambassador

Mohammed Siraj has been appointed as the new brand ambassador of Games24x7’s fantasy cricket platform My11Circle. Mitrabha Guha named as India’s 72nd Grandmaster

Kolkata-based player Mitrabha Guha has become India’s 72nd chess Grandmaster by bagging his third and final GM norm during a tournament in Serbia. The 20-year old Guha achieved the GM title after securing the final norm at the ongoing GM Third Saturday Mix 220 tourney in Novi Sad. He won this 3rd GM norm against GM Nikola Sedlak of Mitrabha Guha scored his 2nd GM norm at the Sheikh Russel International GM Tournament 2021, Bangladesh.

NPCI Bharat BillPay ties up with ICICI Prudential Life Insurance

National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) the tie-up of its subsidiary NPCI Bharat BillPay with ICICI Prudential Life Insurance to provide the latter’s customers the facility of ClickPay.

ICICI Prudential Life Insurance claimed it is the first insurance company to offer the facility of ClickPay to its customers, helping them make payments of renewal premium with ease. To offer an automated and valuable insurance premium payment experience, ICICI Prudential Life Insurance will generate the ClickPay link and share it with the customers which will redirect them to the payment page comprising payment details. This convenient and secure two-step process will help customers pay the bills without the hassle of putting in the premium amount, remembering premium payment dates, and going through arduous steps to make the payment.

Hardeep Singh Puri unveils statue of Maharani Lakshmi Bai in Hisar college

Union Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs & Petroleum and Natural Gas, Hardeep S. Puri has unveiled the statue of Rani Lakshmi Bai at the Maharani Lakshmi Bai college for Women, Bhiwani Rohilla in Hisar (Haryana) through video conferencing.

Describing Rani Lakshmi Bai as a prominent symbol of rebellion against the suppression of the British Raj, the Minister said that her life has been an inspiration for generations of nationalism and Indian women who fought against the British for India’s independence with the utmost bravery, skill, and force against British rule.

Fumio Kishida re-elected as Prime Minister of Japan

Fumio Kishida was re-elected as Japan’s prime minister by parliament after the ruling coalition won the general election last month, with his government making a fresh start to the work of reviving the coronavirus-hit economy and reducing income disparities. Fumio Kishida succeeded Yoshihide Suga who resigned as PM of Japan in September 2021.

Elected just over a month ago by parliament, Kishida called a quick election in which his governing party secured 261 seats in the 465-member lower house — the more powerful of Japan’s two-chamber legislature — enough to maintain a free hand in pushing legislation through parliament.

Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia launches e-GCA

Union Minister of Civil Aviation, Jyotiraditya M. Scindia has launched GCA (e-Governance in Directorate General of Civil Aviation). This project has been aimed at automation of the processes and functions of DGCA, with 99 services covering about 70% of the DGCA work being implemented in the initial phases, and 198 services to be covered in other phases.

It is a single-window platform and will bring in monumental change- eliminating operational inefficiencies, etc.

SpaceX launches Indian-origin astronaut Raja Chari-led Crew 3 mission

A new SpaceX Crew Dragon capsule led by Indian origin Raja Chari to the International Space Station (ISS) as part of the company’s Crew-3 mission has docked successfully. US Space agency NASA and SpaceX have launched Crew 3 mission named Endurance fixed to Falcon 9 rocket from Launch Complex 39A at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

Under this mission, 4 astronauts have been sent to International Space Station (ISS) for a six-month science mission until April 2022. Crew 3 mission (NASA’s Tom Marshburn (pilot); and Kayla Barron, ESA astronaut Matthias Maurer) consists of Indian-origin NASA astronaut Raja Chari as its mission commander.

CBIC launches digital application for scheduling of cargo examination

The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) launched an online application platform for scheduling of cargo examinations for traders at the Tughlakabad inland container depot in Delhi, with the aim of minimizing the physical interface of trade with Customs and other stakeholders.

It is a multi-stakeholder application where Customs, CONCOR, Customs brokers, importers on the same platform have a shared view of scheduling examination of goods. It will ensure the fullest transparency alongside convenience for trade, stakeholders.

New RBI scheme to enable retail investors to invest in government securitie

The central bank of India is all set to unveil RBI Retail Direct scheme through which retail investors can easily access the government securities market, both primary and secondary online. It will also allow the investors to open and maintain their gilt securities accounts online with the RBI without any extra charges. (G-sec).

G-secs are the debt instruments (bonds and treasury bills) issued by the Reserve Bank of India on behalf of the central government.

World Antimicrobial Awareness Week

World Antimicrobial Awareness Week (WAAW) is celebrated from 18-24 November each year. The WAAW aims to increase awareness of global antimicrobial resistance and to encourage best practices among the general public, health workers, and policymakers to avoid the further emergence and spread of drug-resistant infections.

The 2021 theme, Spread Awareness, Stop Resistance, calls on One Health stakeholders, policymakers, health care providers, and the general public to be Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) Awareness champions.
