Debashish Mukerji has come out with A new book based on the life of Vishwanath Pratap Singh titled “The Disruptor: How Vishwanath Pratap Singh Shook India”, is to be released on December 08, 2021.

It will be published by HarperCollins India. Vishwanath Pratap Singh served as the PM of India from December 02, 1989, to November 10, 1990.

Union Minister of Youth Affairs & Sports Shri Anurag Thakur conferred the first ever SAI Institutional Awards to 246 athletes and coaches on November 17, 2021, in New Delhi in the presence of the Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports Shri NisithPramanik. Secretary of Department of Sports Smt. Sujata Chaturvedi, DG SAI Shri Sandip Pradhan, and other officials of the Ministry were also present on this occasion.

From the total 246 awardees, 162 athletes and 84 coaches were honored in the Outstanding Award and Best Award category. The awards have been given for the exceptional performance of the SAI athletes and coaches at national and international competitions from 2016 under the various sports promotion schemes.

The awards acknowledge the exceptional performance of the SAI athletes and coaches under the various sports promotion schemes at the national and international level from 2016. The inaugural awards have been granted to the deserving candidates for the years of 2016-17, 2017-18, 2018-19, and 2019-20.

Janette Brittin, Mahela Jayawardene, and Shaun Pollock have been inducted into the ICC Cricket Hall of Fame and the formal induction will take place before the T20 World Cup 2021 final between New Zealand and Australia at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday.

To become eligible for induction in the ICC Hall of Fame, a player should have played his last international match at least five years before. Now the total inductees in the list has become 106, which includes 10 women, since the launch of the list in 2009.

India’s first ‘Grass Conservatory’ inaugurated in Uttarakhand’s Ranikhet

India’s first ‘grass conservatory’ spread over an area of two acres was inaugurated on November 14, 2021 at Ranikhet in Almora district. Funded under the Central Government’s CAMPA (Compensatory Afforestation Fund Management and Planning Authority) scheme, the conservatory was developed in three years by the research wing of Uttarakhand Forest Department, Chief Conservator of Forest (research) Sanjiv Chaturvedi said.

The “Germplasm Conservation Centre” has been built by the research wing of the Uttarakhand Forest Department over an area of 2 acres in three years.

Around 90 different grass species have been demonstrated to display their important scientific, ecological, medicinal and cultural information.

PM Modi virtually inaugurates 82nd All India Presiding Officers Conference (AIPOC) in Shimla

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 82nd All India Presiding Officers Conference (AIPOC) in Shimla on November 17, 2021. While inaugurating the conference, the PM said democracy is not just a system for India. Democracy is ingrained in our nature and part of life in India.

AIPOC is the supreme body of legislatures in India. The year 2021 marks the centennial year of the AIPOC (100th anniversary). The conference was first held in the year 1921 in Shimla.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh Inaugurates Three-day Long ‘Rashtra Raksha Samarpan Parv’ in Jhansi, UP

Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh inaugurated the three-day ‘Rashtra Raksha Samarpan Parv’ in Jhansi on November 17, 2021. The festival will culminate on the birth anniversary of Rani of Jhansi Laxmi Bai on 19th November.

The three-day event has been organized by the Ministry of Defence from November 17-19, 2021 as a part of the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahaotsav’ celebrations.

World Bank and ADB launches ‘WePOWER India’ to increase women workforce in the energy sector

The WePOWER India Partnership Forum, held through a virtual platform on November 9, 2021, launched the efforts to scale up the South Asia Women in Power Sector Professional Network (WePOWER) in India.

The event was organized by the World Bank and Asian Development Bank (ADB) in partnership with the India Smart Grid Forum (ISGF). The objective of the forum was to scale up the South Asia Women in Power Sector Professional Network (WePOWER) in India.

This important initiative was attended by 168 key energy sector stakeholders. The WePOWER was launched in February 2019 jointly by the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

PVR Cinemas has partnered with Kotak Mahindra Bank to launch first of its kind co-branded movie debit cards.

Kotak PVR debit cardholders will get automatically enrolled to the PVR Privilege Plus programme. With this, cardholders will receive joining vouchers and earn points on every transaction on the debit card at PVR and outside PVR as well, with no upper limit on the points earned. Points earned can be redeemed all year round on PVR movie tickets and on food and beverages at PVR.

Centre approves new Rajya Sainik Board for Ladakh

The Centre has approved new Rajya Sainik Board for Ladakh, which will be an effective link between the Centre and Ladakh Administration.

Rajya Sainik Board will play an advisory role on the matters relating to the ex-servicemen, war widows, widows, and non-combatants, including serving soldiers and their dependents. Zilasainik welfare offices of Leh and Kargil will function under the newly constituted Rajya Sainik Board. It provides access to the welfare schemes under Raksha Mantri Ex-servicemen Welfare Fund.

World Philosophy Day 2021: 18 November (Third Thursday of November)

Every year, World Philosophy Day is celebrated on the 3rd Thursday of November month. This day is also known as World Philosophy Day. In 2021, World Philosophy Day is being observed on November 18. It was first celebrated in 2002 by the United Nations.

WPD aims to raise public awareness of the importance of philosophy. Philosophy comes from the Greek word phílosophía which means ‘the love of wisdom.’ It is the study of the nature of reality and existence, of what is possible to know, and of right and wrong behavior.

The theme 2021 for World Philosophy Day is based on “different interactions of human beings with their social, cultural, geographical and political environment, with the underlying objective of better understanding the contribution of philosophy in our contemporary societies and the challenges they face”.

Ministry of AYUSH Observes Fourth Naturopathy Day on 18 November 2021

Every year, National Naturopathy Day is observed on 18th November in India. The main objective of this day is to promote positive mental and physical health through a drugless system of medicine, called Naturopathy.

The day was declared by the Ministry of AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy), Government of India, on November 18, 2018. This day also marks the day when Mahatma Gandhi became lifetime Chairman of the All India Nature Cure Foundation Trust and signed the deed with the object of making the benefits of Nature Cure available to all classes of people in the year 1945.
