Paytm Money launches AI-powered ‘Voice Trading’ facility

Paytm Money, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Paytm, launched Voice Trading that allows users to place a trade or get information about stocks via single voice command. It will enable the user to buy and sell securities by speaking out the command.

It has been introduced in line with Paytm Money’s attempts to extend next-gen and AI-driven tech to improve user experience. It is presently being rolled out in beta version to selected users and will be accessible to all users over the next weeks.

Veteran Bollywood actor Salman Khan has been appointed as the Covid vaccination ambassador by Maharashtra Government for campaigning and appealing to people to take both the jabs of the COVID vaccine, especially in Muslim-dominated areas.

Maharashtra Public Health Minister According to Rajesh Tope, there is hesitation about receiving anti-coronavirus vaccines in Muslim-majority communities, and the government will enlist the help of Bollywood actor Salman Khan to persuade people to get the vaccine. Salman Khan will persuade people to get vaccinated as an ambassador for better vaccination counts in the state.

PM Modi inaugurates 'InFinity Forum' on 3rd December

PM Narendra Modi will inaugurate the 2-day thought leadership Forum on FinTech ‘InFinity Forum’ on 3rd December. The event is being hosted by International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA) in collaboration with GIFT City and Bloomberg in virtual mode.

Some of the key speakers in the event include Reliance Industries Chairman and MD Mukesh Ambani, SoftBank Chairman and CEO Masayoshi Son, and Infosys co-founder Nandan Nilekani.

Narayan Rane launches Special Credit Linked Capital Subsidy Scheme

Union Minister for MSME, Narayan Rane has launched Special Credit Linked Capital Subsidy Scheme (SCLCSS) for the services sector at Guwahati. “The scheme will help in meeting the technology-related requirements of enterprises in the services sector and it has a provision of 25% capital subsidy for procurement of Plant & Machinery and service equipment’s through institutional credit to the SC-ST MSEs without any sector-specific restrictions on technology upgradation.”

SIDBI collaborated with Google for financial assistance to MSMEs

Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) has collaborated with Google to launch a $15 million financial assistance program for micro-enterprises. It is a one-of-a-kind program by SIDBI as a crisis response related to Covid-19 to reinvigorate the MSME sector 

  • Total corpus: $15 million or Rs 110 crore
  • Target Group: Micro Enterprises with turnover up to Rs 5 crore
  • Loan size: Rs 25 lakh to Rs 1 crore

It is completely paperless from onboarding to the disbursal stage.

AYUSH Minister Sarbananda Sonowal announces expansion of NEIAFMR in Arunachal Pradesh

The Union Minister of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal has announced the expansion of the North Eastern Institute of Ayurveda and Folk Medicine Research (NEIAFMR) in Pasighat, Arunachal Pradesh by developing new infrastructure within the campus. This is in continuation to the focused approach to develop the AYUSH sector in the entire northeast.

Speaking at the North Eastern Institute of Ayurveda and Folk Medicine Research (NEIAFMR) at Pasighat in Arunachal Pradesh, the minister announced an investment of Rs 53.72 crores to develop new infrastructure within the campus. Under this, a new Ayurveda College with 30 seats and a new Ayurveda Hospital with 60 beds will be established.

For this, direct employment for 86 posts will be created. NEIAFMR is an autonomous National Institute under the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India.

INS Visakhapatnam commissioned into Indian Navy

The Indian Navy’s firepower got a major boost with the induction of INS Visakhapatnam, one of the four stealth guided-missile destroyer ships under Project 15B, at the Western Naval Command in Mumbai on November 21, 2021. This is the first of the four ‘Visakhapatnam’ class destroyers. It has been designed by the Indian Navy’s in-house organization Directorate of Naval Design and constructed by Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited, Mumbai.

INS Visakhapatnam measures 163m in length, 17m in breadth with a displacement of 7,400 tonnes. It was commissioned in the presence of Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh. The warship is a potent platform capable of undertaking multifarious task and missions spanning the full spectrum of maritime warfare.

Geoff Allardice appointed as Permanent CEO of the International Cricket Council

Geoff Allardice was appointed as the permanent CEO of the International Cricket Council (ICC) on November 21. Allardice held the position of ICC CEO on an interim basis since March this year. Allardice was serving as interim CEO for more than eight months. He replaces Manu Sawhney who officially resigned from his position in July 2021. Allardice is a former Australian first-class cricketer.

India Concludes with 7 medals at 2021 Asian Archery Championships in Dhaka

India has finished with 7 medals at the 2021 Asian Archery Championships. The 2021 Asian Archery Championships was held in Dhaka, Bangladesh from November 14, 2021, to November 19, 2021.

The Indian archers bagged seven medals at the competition to occupy second place in the medal table. This included one gold, four silver and two bronze medals. South Korea occupied first place in the medal table with 15 medals and   Bangladesh remained at 3rd.List of Indian medal winners:

Veteran Punjabi Folk Singer Gurmeet Bawa Passes Away at 77

Renowned Punjabi folk singer Gurmeet Bawa has passed away following a prolonged illness. She was 77. The folk artist breathed her last at a city hospital here, said family friend Bhupinder Singh Sandhu.

Gurmeet Bawa, the wife of Punjabi folk singer Kirpal Bawa, was best known for her long ‘hek’ (opening of a song while singing to create a melodious voice with an unbreakable wave) for about 45 seconds.

She came to fame after she started performing on Doordarshan and thus became the first Punjabi female singer to appear on the national television channel.

Hema Malini and Prasoon Joshi conferred with Film Personalities of the Year at 52nd IFFI

Veteran actress Hema Malini and lyrics writer Prasoon Joshi have been conferred with the Indian Personality of the Year award for 2021. While Hema Malini is an actor-turned-politician, Prasoon Joshi is the chairman of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The 52nd edition of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) will be organised from November 20 to November 28. The event will continue till November 28, 2021.

Apart from the above, legendary filmmakers Martin Scorsese and Istevan Szabo were honoured with the inaugural Satyajit Ray Lifetime Achievement Award.

Legendary player AB de Villiers announces retirement from all forms of cricket

Former South Africa captain AB de Villiers has announced his retirement from all forms of cricket on November 19, 2021.

De Villiers had quit international cricket in May 2018, sending shockwaves around the cricket fraternity at the time, but had continued to play his trade in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and other T20 competitions around the globe. However, AB de Villiers was still playing in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), ever since joining the franchise in 2011. He had scored 4491 runs from 28 matches for RCB.

Andhra Pradesh Tops IPF Smart Policing Index 2021

Andhra Pradesh Police has topped the ‘IPF Smart Policing’ Index 2021, among 29 states and Union Territories, released by the Indian Police Foundation (IPF) on November 18, 2021. Andhra Pradesh has secured 1st rank with an overall score of 8.11 out of 10.

Telangana Police is in the second position with 8.10 points while Assam Police has secured the third position with an overall rating of 7.89. With a score of 5.81, Uttar Pradesh is ranked at 28th position and Bihar has occupied the last position with 5.74 points.

The Indian Police Foundation (IPF) releases ‘IPF Citizen Satisfaction Survey on SMART Policing’ which aims to understand public perceptions about the quality of policing in India and the level of public trust in the police.
