
On 26 November 2025 (Constitution Day), India unveiled a bust of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar at UNESCO Headquarters, Paris, led by Ambassador Vishal V Sharma, honoring his global legacy in democracy, education, and social justice.
The event highlighted India’s effort to internationalize Ambedkar’s contributions, aligning his ideals with UNESCO’s mission and celebrating him as a global icon of equality and constitutional values.
The unveiling was led by Vishal V Sharma, India’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to UNESCO, in the presence of diplomats, Indian diaspora members, and UNESCO officials. The event was organised by the Permanent Delegation of India to UNESCO, highlighting India’s diplomatic effort to internationalise the contributions of its foundational leaders.
This was not merely a ceremonial installation — it was a strategic cultural milestone, aligning India’s democratic and inclusive ideals with those upheld by UNESCO.
