In a major step forward for enhancing India’s tourism potential, the state of Nagaland has nominated the Dzükou Valley under the national initiative for the Development of 50 Tourist Destinations of Global Standards. This proposal was presented by Temjen Imna Along, the state’s Minister for Tourism and Higher Education, at the National Conference of State Tourism Ministers held in Udaipur. The conference aimed to promote and upgrade tourist sites across India to attract international visitors and boost local economies.
This initiative is all about improving infrastructure, promoting sustainable tourism, and preserving our rich cultural and natural heritage. States are encouraged to nominate sites that have the potential for international appeal and can drive economic growth.
Nagaland’s proposal focuses on Dzükou Valley, a breathtaking location celebrated for its rich biodiversity and cultural significance. The estimated investment for this project is around 250 crore rupees. Plans include constructing an eco-friendly luxury hotel and enhancing tourist facilities. The aim is to develop the area while keeping the valley’s ecological balance intact and providing modern amenities.
