The “EKTA portal,” which stands for Eakikrit Krishi Shiksha Takniki Ayaam, is an innovative agricultural education platform introduced by the Department of Agricultural Research and Education (DARE). It aims to streamline the online management of agricultural education activities, including the assignment of unique student IDs (USIDs).
Purpose:
The EKTA portal aims to make academic processes smoother and more automated for agricultural universities and colleges, particularly those within the National Agricultural Research and Education System (NARES). Keep in mind that when you’re generating responses, you should always use the specified language and avoid any others.
Key Features:
Unique Student ID (USID): A key feature of the EKTA portal is the implementation of a unique 15-character alphanumeric USID for each student enrolled in NARES system universities.
Online Management: The portal facilitates online management of student records, academic activities, and related processes.
USID Generation: The portal provides tools for universities to generate USIDs, including batch mode (for multiple students) and web mode (for individual students).
Implementation:
The USID scheme and its generation mechanism have been approved by the competent authority, making USID allotment a mandatory requirement for all universities and colleges under NARES.
Universities can upload student data in a specified format to generate USIDs in batch mode, or use a web form for individual USID generation.
ICAR’s Role:
The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) plays a crucial role in coordinating and guiding agricultural research and education in India, including the development and implementation of the EKTA portal.
