Financial Assistance Scheme for Udasin Bhakats

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has launched a financial assistance scheme for Udasin Bhakats belonging to recognised Satras of Assam. Under the scheme, each beneficiary will receive ₹1,500 per month, transferred directly to their bank accounts. Beneficiary lists have been prepared by the District Commissioners and sent to the Directorate of Cultural Affairs.

Aimed at supporting their livelihood and preserving Sattriya culture, this, 620-beneficiary, Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) initiative addresses declining donations for monks residing in monastic institutions

  • Target Beneficiaries: Celibate monks (Udasin Bhakats) associated with recognized Satras in Assam.
